Discover the Kew Gardens in London

As an Australian living in London, one thing I have discovered about myself since moving to the UK is how much I previously took the good weather for granted. In London, every ray of sunshine is cherished and, when the clouds part, the parks fill with picnic blankets, frisbees and striped deck chairs as the city stops to celebrate the sun.

If, like me, you appreciate the outdoors, the next sunny day would not be wasted in Kew Gardens. Kew comprises 121 hectares of gardens and botanical glasshouses, and is the home of the biggest collection of living plants in the world. Wander down the Holly Walk, explore Queen Charlotte’s summer cottage or climb the Treetop walk to have a leafy bird’s eye view of the park.

Kew Gardens is reachable on the District Line to Richmond, and is open until 6.30pm during summer.
